Devon, PA remained mostly untouched until about 1801 when Robert McClenachan married into the Harrison family. The Harrison’s then owned about 1000 acres in the area for some 60 years prior. McClenachan planned out a new town for the area, then known as Glassely, just shortly after the completion of the turnpike from Philadelphia to Lancaster through his property.
