Valley Forge National Historical Park
Valley Forge National Historical Park was home to George Washington and his Continental Army for six months during the Revolutionary War. Today, you will find the Muhlenberg Brigade Huts built by Washington’s soldiers, Washington’s headquarters, and artillery park, where Henry Knox and his artillery trained during their encampment. The park also offers Trolley Tours and interactive Revolutionary War History Tours. Beyond the history, the park has trails for hiking and running, fishing, biking, and spaces for picnics. They also host the Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run every April to benefit visitor services at the park.
Chanticleer Garden
Chanticleer Garden is a seasonal contemporary garden located in Wayne PA. Here you will discover 35 acres of exquisite foliage and flowers, all perfectly designed. The Chanticleer Gardens is an amazing place to relax, learn, explore, and become inspired. The main path, where you can walk and enjoy the views, is just under a mile long, but there are many places to sit and relax. The gardens also offer workshops, where you can learn about garden design from an expert designer, and art classes, offered through art centers in the area.
